hi, i heard that baking egg shells, then grinding them up and putting some in your dogs food is good for them. has anyone heard about this? and how long should the shells be baked for? thanks, vinnie

I add smashed egg shells with their food, but I don't cook them. I never thought about it. Is that supposed to help?

If they cut up their guts, I have an egg-suckin' hound that should have bled out long ago!

I save all my eggs shells and crunch them up for the garden, for the chickens if they wish to have them and I throw some uncrushed out in the yard for the dogs to chew on. Besides that, they often find the eggs my free rangers have laid in the hay stacks and they eat them.

I think it would be a great source of calcium for dogs.....my glossy, healthy dogs are a testament to it!
