A lot of us enjoy our Guineas alive tho.

Guineas are tasty, and lean.. but not much meat on them. 1 will make a nice meal for 2 with some left overs for sandwiches or soup.

I like to put 1 (or 2 if I am feeding more than 2 people) in a crock pot with some broth/stock, fresh onions, chopped garlic, sea salt, fresh ground black pepper and a couple sprigs of fresh rosemary. Cook for 5-6 hrs on high.. then add cut up carrots, red potatoes and some kind of green veggie (my fav is thick slices of fresh zucchinni from my garden, or brussel sprouts. Yah, I'm weird, I know). Then cook all of that on low for a couple more hours until the veggies are done and meat is falling off the bird. You can use the broth to make delicious gravy if you want... or freeze it all for the next bird you cook. Tasty

ETA:
Sometimes I stuff the cavity of the bird full of the onions, garlic and rosemary. You can also add wine to the stock for a different twist.

Did you get them to control insects, or to be gaurd dogs? They will call ALOT and can be very upsetting to neighbors. They mostly have dark meat although do have some white. I would brine it first! They also lay very tasty eggs! Good luck in what ever you choose, but if you cull one and don't like the test, give the rest away on here or on craigslist:)

i dont have guineas anymore. i got rid of them because they killed some of my chickens. but i might buy some to eat.

Think duck meat without all the fat. Goes really well with citrus fruit, oranges and lemons.

Guinea has a great texture and makes pretty good sandwiches. Problem is getting the meat in the first place if you do not have your own flock.

Guineas have a great flavor, we usually cut them up to save freezer space and slow cook the leg quarters with mushrooms, salt, pepper, garlic. The breasts you can bake or cook them on the grill (hot and fast). Don't over cook on the grill or they turn into shoe leather. Whole birds with oyster stuffing is to good to describe.
