Are leg bands uncomfortable for chickens?

Hi, yesterday I put a leg band on one of my chickens and went to bed. This morning he's sort of stumbling around and limping and kinda like, hopping to walk? I don't have a video of it but are they uncomfortable to chickens? I don't want him to be uncomfortable

Is he feather-footed? How tight is the band and what type?
I don't know what feather footed is and I don't know how really tight the band is or supposed to be, but this is the type of band

Feather-footed birds will have feathers growing out of their legs. Bands would almost certainly be uncomfortable.

If he's clean-legged, make sure the band is loose enough to spin around and not cut off his circulation. Does he have spurs? Is the band above or below his spur?

I'm not sure where it is as my mom put it on while I held him, I'll check later though, and I honestly never paid attention to whether he had feathers on his feet I didn't know it was important, I'm very new to all this so I'm sorry

No worries! He could very well just be adjusting to having something on his leg. Have you ever put booties on a dog? They act very dramatic until they get used to them! 😂
