Are most of your hatches complete in 24 hrs?

When I had one fan and a small bator hatches could take a couple of days, sometimes longer.

In the new fangled mini-fridge (Darthbator) one with two fans, hatches are within 24 hours of each other or there is a problem. Thing keeps wicked even temps throughout the bator. I'm in love...

Even if I'm still working on it, I love it soooooooooo. Okay yeah I'm a little too pleased with myself over this one. But it holds all I want to hatch, is totally steady, and hatches have just rocked.

Too many possible variables - three days should be considered. If there were low temp periods some may take as long as 24, we've even seen on the board 25 days.

People often count the first day as one. When it's zero and then their dates are off.

In my hatches at this point, if they're not out in 24 hours of the first I have to check for problems because now my hatches tend to be dead on. Which is useful.

If I'm running a staggered bator that changes things and I allow more time for all my fiddling.

Day 24 and I am pretty sure the one that pipped yesterday is getting close to hatching. I did have to help a little b/c the membrane was glued to his body. (The humidity got out of whack when I got out the other chicks, I think)

This one appears to have VERY few feathers! Can that happen with Turkins?

Does this chick look like something is wrong with it to you?

The others I hatched... some naked neck, some cochins, some cochin/naked neck mix.

They're weak when they're like that and very subject to cooling so the bator is the best place for them if they can just rest and try to finish growing. I had one kick out like that in the last hatch, looked for all the world a day early, the membrane bled, I mean he seemed sort of psychotic to have kicked out that much too early. Like he panicked or something in there. I thought for sure he wouldn't make it.

He's a fine healthy LARGE baby now.

You could even see the internal organs through the thin skin. I just glanced through the window and saw no breathing movements, so I don't think it made it.

It just didn't look anything like the other turkins that hatched out. It makes me sad that it made it out and still didn't make it...
