are my chickens comedians ???

ROFLMAO I think you have been listening at my backyard fence! Sounds exactly like some of my conversations with The Girls. Especially the first one.

My chickens are my second greatest source of entertainment, the first being my granddaughters. We have 5 comfy chairs and a footstool sitting in the yard for the sole purpose of watching my chickens in the evening when I let them out for 1.5- 2 hrs to run in the yard and under the cedars. Hubby sits out there with me, and several evenings I've gone outside to look for him and he's already let the girls out and he's sitting there watching them. I've taken my dinner out there many many times to eat and watch them play. My little cochin roo is a nusance (if I were a chicken I'd think he was obnoxious) and my sex links are always jumping up to the arm of our chair or our legs to get away from him, check out what wer're doing or eating, then jump down when the coast is clear. One of my barred rocks likes to stand next to me and lean in so I'll stroke her, then she almost purrs when I do. Being around my chickens is very soothing to me and they've made me much more content to stay at home, where I've been very restless since I got laid off from my part time job of many years. My husband grew up around chickens and tried to tell me I didn't really want chickens, but he's seen how wrong he was. Even my son in law will stand for a long time watching them, and has commented several times how pretty they are. Yep, I'm hooked on Chicken TV too. It's the only reality show worth watching!!!

Gosh, I can go on and on about the entertaining things that chickens do. They really are the best source of entertainment around! And I can totally relate with you, gryeyes; I carry on goofy conversations with my birds too. I remember when my hen, Button, was having trouble getting out of the coop when I opened it. The door opens in a way that it's inside of the coop, trapping the 'slower' chickens one the side. Well, she got trapped behind the door one morning. She finally came out after a few minutes of struggling, and came to tell me the story with a loud, "buk, buk, buk, buk, bukbukBUCK!".
