I mix my own feed of oats, wheat, peas, corn, lentils, BOSS, flax, sesame seeds, and kelp to feed my free range ducks and chickens. I ferment 5 1/2 cups of feed, that makes about 8 cups when finished and they get fed half in the morning, and half in the evening. I also give them several handfuls of cat food with their feed. They come running and flock to the feeders at feeding time and eat it up like nobody's business, so I am worried that they aren't getting enough to eat. After the initial frenzy, they back off a little and it will take them 30 minutes to finish it all off. We have 8 standards size hens and 4 ducks.
