Are my chickens laying eggs?

well I have nine chickens seven hens and two roosters. We got the first rooster a while back and the other 8 of them on the 28th of April. Five of them were about two months old when we got them. The rooster does this weird thing to the hens. He circles them while dragging his wings on the floor. Which I'm pretty sure its some sort of weird mating dance. It's pretty funny to watch. Anyway one day while I was holding a older one the rooster started flipping out and puffing up. when I put her down he chased her a mated with her. I was just wondering if they are old enough to mate or if he's just being weird. I wanna know so I can see if they have any eggs because they spend a lot of their time under our house. I'm fixing to cover it up but since their always under there I don't want to block them from their eggs.


P.S he mated with the older one about two weeks ago.

If there were two months old when you got them, depending on their breeds, they most likely are laying or will be laying soon.

FWIW You do not need a rooster for a hen to lay eggs.

Yep, you probably have eggs by this point.

And yes, if he's mating, and they're twenty weeks old, they're old enough to mate.

I found this flock count utterly confusing...maybe just my old brain.
Are all the birds(9 total?) about 5 months old?
Do you have a coop with nests?

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).

With my drakes they started mating a few weeks before the hens started laying. How old are your pullets?
