We did survive the night, I put up the HELP HELP post last night. Tonight they are certainly draft free, I have their heat lamp hooked up, they have access to a pillow covered with a winter coat(fleece side up) over the pillow, which is located in their "baby pen" (bigger than a brooder) which is located in their new pen so the have something familiar. They STILL are walking around crying. They lay together under the light for awhile, then come to the pen door and cry. They stopped now but they have repeated this several times. I went out to check on them twice. They don't seem cold, I think they just want company. Why won't they just go to sleep. It's late for 4 week olds to be up don't ya think? What is wrong with them, does anyone know. Should I just go live in the pen with them. lol...it seems like that's what they want. Anybody else ever had this problem?

When my 4 week olds are out in the coop they still have their heat light. So they don't understand about daytime and nighttime since it's always light. So I leave them their feed and water and they will eat and play for a while, then sleep for a while and then eat and sleep some more. Off and on during the night just like during the day. Don't worry about them. They'll be fine. The more you check on them and they see you the more they will peep for you so, since you know they have heat, feed, and water, just let them be for the night. They'll be fine and glad to see you in the morning.

Thanks Beckyla, that's good advice. I have been in the chat room and they have settled and I am going to stop worrying about them as they are "training" me to come when they cry. I am going to go to bed and be glad to see them in the morning.

Alecia,

My crazy babies are up at all kinds of weird times too. You finally get to a point where you realize that if you don't get some sleep and quit worrying about them, you're gonna go nuts. New chick Mom who has been there and done that!
