Are my Chicks too comfertable with people?? Did I mess up..

Enjoy it while it lasts! Mine have never much wanted anything to do with me, so be happy that you have a friendly bunch. Only thing to be careful of is that if you baby a rooster too much they can sometimes take this as a sign that they are dominant over you and they may turn violent, but hens, cuddle away!
Your lucky. I went outside to sit in the garden, relax & smoke a cigarette.... Ended up with 6 birds bustling for position on my knee while staring at me & pecking my leg & hand (gently) within 5 minutes. I can't pet 6 chickens all at once

so they all got jealous & started trying to shove each other off in a bid to be the closest to my body & face (which I don't like at all, my eyes could get pecked).

Needless to say, I could not relax & threw them all off, gave up & went indoors. They followed me right until I shut the door in their innocent faces. Not had a peaceful moment in the garden since I got chickens.

LOL. I got a bunch of spring chickens I hatched last year that are really tame & friendly and they do the same thing. They also jump up & bite the fire off my cigarette and drink my coffee when I set it down. That really ticks me off because I have to dump my cup cause I'm not about to drink it after 3 nasty poop pecking chickens done stuck their beak in it.

Eh, I wouldn't call it lucky- it gets pretty old putting all this time, money and effort into chickens and then they run away screaming from you like you're Colonel Sanders coming to make a chicken dinner no matter what you do. Mine aren't allowed to free range (too close to the road plus neighbors) so they can't follow me around the yard- not that they would anyway, they'd screech, run and hide if I so much as looked at them!

What a darling little boy, and he does obviously love his chicks. We only have 4 hens. But they are very spoiled (with treats and attention). They have always been friendly and jump up on our laps, arms of the chairs and on our shoulders. When they get bothersome, we just put them on the ground and they usually stay. I'd rather have them friendly than mean.
