Okay thank you! I will be keeping my eye on that then. Named them carmela and mocha because they reminded me of little coffee beans, but after reading some more EE threads i feel like i will need to do some renaming. Especially if mocha is a boy.If that red patch of down on the shoulder of the chick on the left turns into a red patch of feathers, he's a cockerel.
Pullets often have partridge feathering, which shows well in the wings of #2. If she does not develop any red patches, she'll be giving you some eggs.
And, I'm just guessing at this point. As others have said, feathering needs to be present to tell for sure. When you post later pics, be sure to include each chick in his/her own set of pics, and show top view: clear photo of comb, and side view, including legs, shoulders, and tail.
A guess is just a guess at this point in the game. Does anyone else think these look almost like Wyandottes rather than EE ?
