Are my eggs good to eat?

My Pekins are finally in a regular routine it seems as far as laying eggs. Ever since I adopted out a few males and left 2 females and just 1 male, they seem much happier and are actually laying in the house I made them in a little nest they made from straw.

So I got 2 eggs today and I washed them with warm water and dish soap and now they are in the refrigerator. Is that satisfactory for cleaning? They weren't that dirty really since I think the hens lay them then leave.

Also, they were outside for a couple hours before I found them, but they weren't warm when I picked them up so I think they'd be alright correct?

Thanks for any info.

Hi there
That is how I normally clean my eggs
A little water and a sponge
If the hens nest is clean the eggs shouldn't be too dirty.
I would think the eggs should be fine to eat
Goodluck with it

Yeah they are a off white color. And fairly smooth texture. Basically the size of a large chicken egg but slightly elongated.

I'll give them a try tomorrow morning for breakfast and see how it goes. Duck eggs are a little different tasting than a chicken egg right? At least that's what I've read somewhere

Yes duck eggs have a slightly stronger flavour.
I have 7 laying ducks and a drake just for eggs
I have no eggs laying hens just all pure bred breeding hens
For showing and breeding.
Some people like duck eggs and some people don't
It depends on your personal taste
Goodluck
