I live in the Pacific Northwest and I let my chicken roam around my yard. Unfortunately two of my chicken decided to lay eggs in the garden for the past three weeks and I finally found them. The questions is are the safe to eat knowing that the average day time temps were 40-50 and night time temps 30-40?

Sounds about like the temperature of our fridge. What is more important than the actual degree reading is weither or not the eggs were in the sun, or under a shady bush. If the eggs have gone bad, you will know when you crack them.....Is there a roo anywhere around? (just to throw in another variable)

Yes they should be just fine. They will stay good four months on your conuter in the kitchen if they are not washed. Up to four months. Six months in the refir. As longer as they where not in direct sun light they will be just fine.

There is what is know as a noatural bloom on the out side of the egg when layed. This pervents any air, dirt or bacteris from getting in.

As for me ... I wouldn't eat them ... bloom or no bloom.
Scramble the eggs up or hard boil them and feed 'em back to the chickens.

Why take a chance on human consumption ... you'll get more tomorrow!
And now that you know where those badly behaved hens are laying, you can check for FRESH eggs daily.
