I have a hen who is brooding on half a dozen eggs and I would like to see which eggs have chicks in them. How can I tell? The hen has been setting on them for eleven days as of June 15th.

At 11 days it should be easy to tell by candling. You need a strong led flashlight and a dark area to candle.

If you search candling or how to candle eggs, you'll find better instructions than I can give.

X 2 - candling will be quite definitive at this point.

The light that I used is not bright but I can see enough to tell that two of the six eggs have wriggling chicks in them, three have lots of veins, and one has nothing at all.
