Are my hens molting?

I can put Mr. Roo away for now. At least until the girls get their feathers back.
Curious though, If he was younger what would I do to get him to stop being so rough with them?
I do plan on having a second rooster, this might come in handy.

Theres not really much you can do but a younger boy is still getting used to his teenage hormones and will sometimes settle down once past it. If you get another roo, choose carefully, if its a younger fella you run the risk of the older one teaching him bad manners, an older calmer one with good manners may get pushed around or worse by the current one. Ultimately you may find you'll just have to put em together and wait and watch. Keep the best of the two and send the other on.
Wish I could offer more positive advice. Maybe someone else will have other options for you to consider.:fl

They are a mess mine look just the same , we got rid of our rooster , 6 of my hens had bare backs and under their wings , when I saw dry blood that’s when I lost it , he had to go !! I’m not hatching eggs and didn’t need him .

A month later they are covered in pin feathers , I’m so happy they’re coming back , their red backs are hard to look at and yes I made thme all saddles , for while they healed
