We are in TX too and have let our girls out to play in the run by day and we put them back in their brooder at night. Still some finishing touches need to be done in the coop but as soon as it's done they will be moving in.
In the brooder in our house we have turned off the heat light already. Been about a week or so. They are fine. Inside it doesn't get below 65 or the heat will go on, and they are fine as can be
