Are my makeshift nesting boxes good?

When we bought our house, it had this old big shed that I decided to make into a big chicken/duck coop! Some of my girls are 20 weeks old, so I got the nesting boxes ready. Are they too high? The birds all sleep in the rafters on the other end of the coop. I just made boxes out of things we found leftover in the shed. Including a couple of drawers. I haven't ever seen the birds get on top of that shelf though...will they be able to see the boxes with fake eggs in them? Sounds dumb but I'm all worried now.
I tried to take a picture and show from my phone.

As long as the roosting spots are higher you should be fine. If you are worried, my only suggestion would be maybe lower 1or 2 to under the workbench, maybe sitting them up on a couple bricks or blocks of wood. Some of my hens prefer ground level boxes, I've got one who likes to be in a higher nest -I think they are all different and will lay where they want ultimately (even in the corner on your coop floor outside of a best box!). The best you can do is what you e done - provide them clean nesting material in a quiet, semi darkened place.

I just looked at the photo again, and us actually also stick one on that next shelf down on the left hand side. I bet they'd feel cozy an unexposed in there!

Thanks so much! I was thinking of moving a couple down to that second shelf, but wasn't sure if they had headroom? Also I don't know if they will need a ladder to that one?

With not being there it's hard to say about the head room. You could just add a perch out off the front if the bottom shelf for them.
