I would do what NatJ suggested. Get the collar now and do a test run. Before you bring the rooster home. Follow the directions for the no crow collar too. I believe you can find them on the no crow collar website. What worked for someone else online might not work for you. If when you follow the directions the collar still doesn’t quiet him then it won’t work.
The collar doesn’t work for every rooster. For some it slips on their feathers, or they manage to crow around it. I used the no crow collar with two of roosters. It worked for one and not the other. The silkie was quieter. The EE was not. No matter where I moved it or how much I tightened it, he was still loud. If I put it lower down he managed to slip it off sometimes too. Me and the no crow collar killed him.
