Are pekins prone to health problems

I am looking at adding more ducks to my flock and somebody was raising some ducklings but couldn't keep them long term and said I was more than welcome to take them and she is looking at pekins I was later looking at some ducklings for me to raise myself in addition to those and thought about an assortment I read some of the reviews and one person ended up with white pekins and one of them later had foot and leg problems she said she thiught it was the weight but it alnost sounded like a niacin deficiency.

As long as they get all the correct nutrients are pekins anymore prone to injuries and illnesses than any other duck (I am mainly experienced with rouens and khakis)

I have had a couple of Pekins. They never had any issues. They are meat birds so are larger and require exercise to be kept long term.
