Duckling respiratory distress — please help!

I am really sorry for your loss. Sounds like your bedding for them is ideal and in future their water/head dunking source will be too. We can only learn as fast as we can and you are doing that. Well done. That is more than half the battle with ducks. The other half is managing their particular vitamin requirements. Let us know if you need any input.
 
I’m sorry you lost the little one too, it’s heartbreaking when that happens. As for the temperature at three weeks old, you want it to be 75 on the warm side of brooder. And here’s pics of my ducklings waterers I use a lid with holes cut in the top so they can only stick their head in and not get their whole body wet and this way they don’t splash the water all over the place either as they grow. I either make the holes bigger or switch to another lid that already has bigger holes.
