Never heard this. I just had a perfect hatch, 10 out of 10 eggs, from my black cochin roo (free rare chick, only one I have) over my Dominique and Dom cross hens. Of course he is 8 months old and not fully grown yet.Cochins should have their feather trimmed very short around their vents. They have so much fluff that when they breed they can't "hook up" with all their fluff. Above the vent on females and below the vent on males. My Cochin egg fertility tripled after I started trimming them.
