Are roosters all mean??? Please tell me they aren't!

I had the sweetest roo.(about 2 years old)..........araucana and he was good to his girls and would let me pick him up no problem.

I just have one roo, my silkie, Frost, he's my avatar. I'm not sure how old he is, but I'm guessing around 1yr. He's very easygoing with people and treats his ladies well. He started getting a little too rough with the ladies once and I scolded him and reminded him that I did not need a roo for eggs and if I had any more bald chickens, he'd be dinner. No problems since then. He's actually the easiest to handle. We pick him up and carry him around like a baby. I've trimmed his claws before and was pretty worried on how he would react. He has 2"+ spurs and I thought for sure I'd get raked. To my suprise he was an angel, so much better than the dogs. I cut one claw too short and it bled, he didn't even flinch.

I have had some that are aggressive (got rid of them!) The two I have now are very sweet and not agressive towards people at all. If I am trying to catch on of his girls (my alpha rooster), I can tell this upsets him, but he does not attack.

I have an OEGB roo named Duckling who runs to me to be picked up. He calls to me when he sees me across the yard. And he gets along with all of my chickens, roosters, ducks, goats...etc.

He's not crazy about the cat.

I thought all roos were mean- the ones at my mom's fly at me feet first. She gave me a frizzle roo and he is the nicest young man. He must just be getting old enough to mate...he does a really cute dance for my polish hen, but he's a bit shy with her. He is very polite to her and expressive. "Rooster boy" has definitely changed my opinion of roos. Any mean roos here will be sent into the woods with their knapsacks!

We have a 1 year old Barred Rock Rooster named "Stu" he is a very good at taking care of his girls, but he will once in awhile try to sneak up on you. My daughter has been flogged a few times, but she is not scared of him. She has came in the house carrying him under her arm several times.
