Hi all. I have 7 chicks and 6 are lookung big and robust but one is so tiny compared to the rest. Its a healthy chick and showing no signs of sickness. Just wondering if runts are common. Tia!
Two of our last batch of 9 were much smaller than the rest. I put them in a separate box for awhile so they could get all the food they needed (not getting knocked out of the way by the big chicks). After a few days they seemed bigger and more steady on their feet so I put them back with the others. They held their own. They are still the smallest of the group and near the bottom of the pecking order (one year later). They have worked out ways to get what they need, though. Doing fine.
