I recently received an order of chicks and one of the chicks had what looked like pasty butt but the spot was about half an inch below where its little butt was which was clean btw. When i soaked him to clean it off ( like i would if it were pasty butt) it was yellow and looked like a bit of the yolk didn't fully absorb. About the size of a pencil eraser. Over the next few days it closed up and now looks like a tiny little "outtie" bellybutton. This chick is significantly smaller than the rest and doesn't seem to have the level of energy that the others do. She's now almost a week old eats and drinks regularly and is gaining weight but no where near the same rate as the others. Will she just always be a "runt"? Is there anything i can do to get her to catch up? This is the only pic i have of her right now but ill try and post another of her with one of the other chicks for size comparison

I would think at most it'd be just a day or two behind the others since it was slower to absorb its yolk than the rest. Funny the hatchery didn't catch that, but probably best they didn't or they may have culled it. Many hatcheries don't have time for chicks that aren't par for what they're supposed to be.

If it seems like it's significant, and you want to try something, pick up a small bag of Kaytee Exact baby parrot feed +Fat. That's what we mixed in the mash for a 3-month-old malnourished blind pullet we rescued. Two-three weeks later and you couldn't tell as she was thriving and got a shine to her feathers. A month later, she got her vision back and joined the free-rangers after we tested her to ensure she'd be fine.

We also have a silkie that was hatched from a smaller egg, and was a smaller chick, but she was every bit as rambunctious as the rest were. She's three now and half the size of the rest of them. Someone came here once and said she was a miniature silkie. There's no such thing; she's a runt. :)
