Are silkie eggs...

We've noticed that our Silky eggs tend to be more pointed than our Mottled Cochins eggs, which are more round than pointy.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dawn. Sally's egg was longer and even more pointed on both ends. She was purchased recently(last week) and was being used as a broody. I was told she also was laying. I'm doubting that her eggs are fertile at this point and surprised that we got a first one from her so soon. I have her with two young OEG roos,2OEG hens and 3 very young black silkies(that I hope are hens). Anyway, I hope if I ever have to store her eggs for hatching(eventually) that I'll know which is the pointed end and that the shape won't cause a problem for chicks pipping.
