Are silkies considered bantams?

When I look in the welp hatchery catalog they only have only bantam silkies.

Well...kind of. From what I've read, silkies in the U.S. are larger than their EU counterparts. They are considered bantam fowl only in the U.S. But HOPEFULLY someone will start working on largefowl silkies!

In Europe (and Australia, I think) they have both bantam and largefowl silkies. Here in the use there are only bantams, although some lines tend to be larger than others.

Personally, unless one could create HUGE silkies (think 2-3' tall) I will continue to prefer the bantams, and of those I rather prefer the smaller ones.
