You'll enjoy the silkies. Quiter than my buffs and australorps (hens). The roos have a cute crow and will definitely crow!
Just expect fewer and smaller eggs. Also, if you don't have a place to let them out, the eggs might not be as rich tasting. I guess this depends on what you mean by "city". If you have a place to let them out....they don't roam as far as the larger breeds.
The silkies will stop laying in very hot or very cold weather.....and generally give an egg every other day. So you can expect with 4 girls.....about 1 to 2 eggs a day (small). Or in large egg terms....1 egg per day while the weather is mild.
As for the phobia.....they are GREAT!!! You will LOVE how cute and calm they are. If you get them as peeps.....they will be pets like you've never had before!!!
