I have a pair of Silver pheasant and she has laid her first egg.
I was wondering if anybody has tried to raise them naturally instead of incubating

Absolute opposite of that at my place. I steal their eggs for awhile and then let them raise a batch on their own. They do quite well. They will defend the chicks as a flock. I have a trio of hens and a male in that particular pen and they will all four come after me to defend their babies. Once in awhile a baby gets throught the wire and if I try to put the sqeeker back in, they are all their hissing at me etc. They even split up the brood at night or take turns during the day to keep the chicks warm. Quite fun to witness. Out of all my pheasants these Silvers make the best parents.
