Are Squirrels a real problem?

I haven't had any problems with squirrels, other than them eating bulbs, flowers, and various other things in the garden, and I have both gray and red ones. I did make sure when building my coop, however, that it was tight and there would be no place for them to get in and build their winter nest, because they can be a nuisance to get rid of once they are in a building.

We had a squirrel and one of our hens take turns chasing each other. My wife saw it. Said it was really funny. Squirrel would chase the hen than she would stop fluff up her feathers and chase him.
