Are the baby chicks suppose to sleep like this?

Thanks and if it's a rooster than I'm gonna quickly order a rooster collar online because I do not want to do what I did to the other rooster 2 years ago. :( I think you all know what happened, I butchered it. Is not my fault but I live in an urban area and bought 1 rooster and 1 hen chicks and just raise them for fun but than I got serious and I started making my own chicken business and taking care of it. But the rooster didn't survive because my neighbor complained before the rooster reach its adult stage. :(

What is this butterfly shape feathers springing in my Ameraucana chick?

If this is a rooster, can anyone help me on how to solved the problem? Rooster aren't allowed in my urban area. I lived in Caldwell, Idaho. I found a rooster collar on mypetchicken.com and should I buy one?

Yep, they sleep like that. My older Ameraucana sleeps with her leg stretched out behind her like shes doing yoga or something, the others sleep like you'd expect a chick to sleep. They sleep more if they are too cold or too hot - its kind of like the Three Bears story. Make sure to keep their sleepy heads away from the waterer, they will drown in their sleep. Good luck with your girls. :D

Wow, you can't buy an animal and not know what to expect when raising them. I realize this post is a few weeks old and I hope your babies lived but it is key to be informed before getting any life that is depending on you. :(
