I am plaining to attract the hummingbirds in my backyard by using the hummingbird feeders. But I am also little confuse as I have some chickens in my backyard as well. Can I attract the hummingbirds in the presence of chickens in my backyard?
I am thinking to put the feeders at a perfect height where they are not accessible to the chickens. Let me know your thoughts.

I have on occasion seen hummingbirds in my yard with my chickens. I do not try to attract the hummingbirds, I guess they like the trees and bushes my chickens hide under. Neither seems to mind or notice the other. So I don't think it would be a problem. Good luck, let us know how it goes. :frow

This plant will attract hummingbird. Sorry... I don't remember the scientific name of the flower.

Thank you so much for your help. Let me use the hummingbird feeders, than I will come back to tell you the story.

The hummingbirds here come and eat the honeysuckle that's right by the chicken coop. They don't care about the chickens at all.
Thanks for your clearance. I am going to attract the hummingbirds. Hopefully my backyard chickens will not be discouraging for them.

@jimmy096 - Here's a great video series on attracting hummingbirds to you:

We have had chickens and ducks during the time we feed hummingbirds with no issues. Giving your hummingbirds a few options will really help: their primary diet is insects for protein, but they use natural and human-provided nectar too. Research native, hummingbird-friendly plants for your area that will provide a nectar source you don't have to refill and clean. Feeders are a responsibility - changing nectar every 2-3 days if not sooner in hot weather to prevent spoiled nectar (and potentially sick hummers when you start getting nasty things growing in that bad nectar). Cleaning them properly is very important too, soap and water won't do the trick to halt bacteria growth.

I currently have 4 feeders around our property but will have more when the summer explosion happens. I've got about a dozen + hummers here so far and females nesting in the woods around. Here are the feeders we really like- easy to clean and refill: https://amzn.to/3vBDYaw
