I have one that is way behind on feather growth (the one in the back) . It wasn’t the last born and it didn’t have a difficult hatch.

Does feather growth indicate if they are male/female?

They are bantam Orpingtons born March30/31.

The odds of having only 1 out of 6 being a boy is pretty slim I think. All the others have close to the same amount. The one closest to the camera is my biggest and has the most feathers with the others not far behind. I don’t mind having more than one to choose from as long as I at least I have a couple of pullets to keep.

It’s just strange how this one is so far behind..

I have ended up with all pullets and all roosters. Odds are 50/50 but the fewer birds the less likely you are to get those odds.
