You can cover the cracked area with melted wax, but keep a close eye on this egg as frequently they go bad and can ruin the incubation.

Also there is an actual piece of the shell that fell off, I can't put wax there it would burn the embryo.

Put a tiny piece of scotch tape and i do mean tiny on the spot just enough to cover the missing shell. Still keep a very close eye on that egg in case it goes bad.

I wouldn’t put wax on that. You have exposed section of membrane. Are these due to hatch? Otherwise a whole piece of shell coming off prior to that would like be a bad egg anyways. If due, leave it alone, the chick is trying to hatch

They are due to hatch on the 24 of December! I am so excited!

Hi I am hatching bobwhite quails and I’m currently on day 11. During candleing I dropped the egg and it dented.luckily the membrane was intact and there was no leakage. I quickly sealed the crack with orange nail polish. I recently candled it today. I’m not sure if it’s alive or not. Please help!!y
