So I discovered this afternoon the my hens have been laying eggs again! I've got one egg from my crested one and 13 from my golden comet, lol. My boss's daughter wants to put the eggs in the incubator (which means ME put them in the incubator which will live at my house for 3 weeks while i do all the work and she gets the chicks

) since this is the first time we've had eggs since we got it. But...It's been down in the 30s here at night, is there any chance of any of the eggs hatching? i don't know how long they've been sitting in the house, I normally don't check them in the middle of winter, but it was nice last week so i guess they started laying again. I don't want to go through 3 weeks of tending to egs to not get any, plus she will be sad if we don't get any chicks out of it... I think the crested one's egg is only several days old at most since that was when i first saw her going back inside the house.

the truth is that people want you to think that eggs are fragile there not the eggs are just lifeless balls until incubation starts so unless a hen set on them for a few hours to a day depending on the egg the breed and the size of hen the eggs are still good.

if I understand you correctly, you just found all these eggs and brought them into your house? the temp has been in the 30's
and the some of the eggs have been in the coop for several days to almost 2 weeks ??

eggs are not all that delicate, true, but this is really pushing it..

It is not true that eggs are just lifeless balls of fluid.. an egg is a living cell just waiting to develope....
