yeah, stuff like this hasn't happened to me, but I dont think my grandparents would be too thrilled.

I am so sorry about this discomfort....
I know that "not liking men" can mean not preferring men as opposed to preferring women or some other gender, or not liking men because they are jerks (my straight husband just explained this to me).
My straight/cis (he also explained this to me) husband said that family is also a choice. Based, I believe, on his father who preferred money to children. It cuts all ways.
