So, we keep a bucket of raw veggie scraps, used tea leaves, and eggs shells in the kitchen that we dump into the compost. I've tried leaving them in the coop and the birds aren't that excited about it. I'd like to whiz it through the food processor and then mix it up with their pellets. Is there any reason not to do that?

Chicks are 7-weeks.

Thanks!!

Joanna

Onions, I have read not to feed them citrus of any kind and raw potato peels (however I have also seen other people feed this to their chickens with no ill effect) I just like to be safe rather then sorry

I know there is a list of good and bad foods here, I will try to find that thread for you and link it here.

I believe the thread is stickied at the top of the feeding and watering section.

And Avocado is apparently Toxic.. has something in it that can cause heart attacks. woops, I've been feeding tiny bits to my birds for a month now and they loved it. guess that's the end of that.
