Am I correct in thinking that bantam are just miniature versions of the standard sizes? Can a hen lay bantam and standard sizes? I'm a little confused sorry.

The bantam breeds are 'like' miniture versions of the larger, true bantams have no larger cousins. Bantams lay the smaller eggs, standards usually lay the larger egg, but their first few pullet eggs can be bantam sized.

for most of the breeds...yes bantams are small versions...they have specific standards. There are a few bantams that have no full sized equivalent...japanese, seabrights...no hens should not be giving you both sizes...breeds have standards and individuals should fall between those limits. Now if you breed full sized and bantams together you will get some size variences that are not normally seen

Yes those have bantams...my sn raises the brahmas

A bird is either a bantam or a standard. A standard hen lays a standard egg, but that egg can range in size depending on the individual hen.

There are bantam versions of most breeds, and that does include Brahmas and Rocks.

There are some bantams that are true bantams. These have no standard size version of the breed. A few examples are Dutch, d'Uccles, d'Anvers, and Japanese bantams.

You can, but it sometimes leads to problems because a larger bird can hurt a much smaller one. It works better if the birds are not closely confined.

I house my bantams and standards separately.
