Are there GLWs? help!

dark cornish>??????

It's not a bad guess IMO considering the way the bird is standing high. This picture shows one of my Hatchery GLW chicks at 7 weeks with the typical posture.

This photo of a DC shows the more typical posture.

Yea, all my birds are from Murray Mcmurray. Is hatchery quality not as good as hatching them yourself? Everyone on here is saying "hatchery quality"

Hatcheries hatch for quantity, not quality so the birds they hatch out and sell very rarely meet the breed standards. There is nothing wrong with those birds, and they're usually good layers, but their coloring, markings and body type more than likely isn't what it should be.

I don't think yours is a GLW - mine look like Uppity Peon's - and they ALL look alike, no discernable differences. Yours "may" be, but not likely.

Once it gets the feathers around the neck won't it be easier to tell, the dark cornish have dark neck feathers and the GLW have lighter ones. I think. Here is a pic of a dark cornish from MM.

This is younger but I don't remember the exact age.
Here is one a little older, same bird.
