Are there ways to tell how old a chicken is?

Are there any ways to tell how old a chicken is besides cutting it in half and counting the rings?

I got a few pullets at a swap that I think should be laying because they look full grown, but still havent begun laying. Their pin bones arent wide enough yet either.

You could always count it's teeth?

Or ask to see it's government issued ID card?

No,pretty sure counting the rings is the only way....

Have you tried contacting the person you got them from? They might be able to give you a good approximation.

That's how I found out the age of my hens.
