Hey, first time raising these breeds and would like a second opinion before they go off to Mr Rooster man.

All 8 weeks old,
Buff Orpington
Silver Laced Barnevelder
Lavender Sussex

Thanks!

Both buff orp look like pullets.
Agreed. Never owned the other two breeds, but my Orpington hen went through a phase where she looked just like that.

I can’t speak to the other two though, but look for the rooster saddle feathers before sending them off.
I said "all cockerels" because every Buff Orpington I've had who looked like that at that age was a cockerel.

Here are some pictures of my pullet at about 8 weeks? 🤷‍♀️ I thought they looked similar but I am totally okay being wrong. Maybe you can help me learn what to look for?

Two things I notice right away about your pullet vs. the OPs chicken are:

- the comb and wattle are much smaller
- she is pretty and fully feathered

In my experience, I've noticed that cockerels tend to feather out much more slowly than the girls. For example, here is my Buff Orpington cockerel vs. a mixed breed pullet the same age.

That does help, thanks. I guess since she was my single comb lady, my memory is that hers was quite developed compared to the others. But I see what you mean.

Sorry just saw you both had replied! For reference here are the two I think are pullets. All photos taken on the same day. Their combs and wattles are still very pale and they feathered faster than the other 2.
