At this age you look for how pink and how many rows of peas the combs have, single row of peas and pale in colour are hens and pink with raised 3 rows of peas(big center row and a smaller row on either side) is rooster(like the one in the pics I quoted above). Hope this helps.

Splashes will start out either pure yellow or yellow with a splotch of grey here and there as chicks. Your Amers are definitely splashes.

With these 2, the left is a cockerel and the right a pullet


I thought so he stands tall and pround. Now are the cockerel tails point out more than other? Most of them are more layed down than the boy?
