Are these Americanas?

That's awesome! I don't want to sound rude to EE owners (I am one too though) - But I'd take an Orloff anyday over an Easter Egger.

That is indeed an Orloff.

I have 3 EE/Spangled Russian Orloff mixes and they are good layers and nice birds. Two lay green eggs and 1 a pale brown egg. There doesn't seem to be a lot of Orloffs around and I'm surpried as they seem to be nice birds. I would like to have a few more.

I used to have 2 roos like that too ~ but had to rehome them.

Really? Because if you set the brightness on the image down, I see a walnut comb. Also, mottling is recessive. It would take some good, focused breeding to get a mottled solid red EE.

Really?........... I never would have guessed( being sarcastic here)

But really, I still think that it is a EE, it looks pretty close to one of mine.

And I can promise you, 100%, that the bird in question is a Russian Orloff. Like Illia said, I doubt that anyone would put that much effort into breeding an EE.

Aloha,

Your Crosses are very beautiful and i like the fact that they are calm in nature too. I wish i could have Orloffs to cross to my EE gals.
