I got some eggs from a real country fella. I told him I wanted to hatch out some Aracaunas. He gave me lots of eggs both brown and green, the extras for eating. Well...the extras ended up in the bator because, well I'm new to incubating and just cant help myself. So now my young fuzzy butts are 2 weeks old and I dont know who came from what color egg, nor do I know if all of his breeds are seperated so that they are pure. The only breeds I can remember he had were Aracaunas and Brown Leghorn, but those are white eggs I think. And I hatched out some all black chicks too. So IDK and all your help is appreciated.

If any came from brown eggs, they would be Easter Eggers. Aracaunas are a rumpless breed, so you wouldn't see tail feathers. Since quite a few hatchery's sell Easter Eggers advertised as Amaraucana's, the farmer that sold you the eggs may not know better.

EE can lay any color egg even brown, remember they are cross bred with who-knows-what.
If it lays a green egg it's not a Araucana. Green eggs come from a bird that has blue and brown egg genes.

A way find out if some one has pure Araucana or Ameraucana is to ask what color they are. If they don't know the color of give an made up color they are very likely EE.
