The three that are barred (white head spot) have the barred rock mom, and are definitely male. Genetically, its impossible for them to not be male.
The other two... do you know who their mom was? Was it also the BR? or somebody else...?

Dont have a clue lol.
The guy just said they are a mix. Well this is gonna be rough then be we thought the three black ones were females and the lighter white and black ones were males lmao. The white ones have more of a cockerel attitude then the black so weird lol

Well, the way it works is that a female barred bird can only pass the barring gene on to her sons.
When you breed BR to BR, the female will pass one copy on to her sons, the male will pass a copy each to his sons and daughters. The daughters will only have one copy and the males will have two, making them double barred and typically lighter than their sisters.
When they make black sex links, they breed a solid rooster (usually red) to a barred hen. The females won't get the barring gene and will be solid black maybe with a white bib, and no head spot... later growing to have black feathers with some red leakage on the neck and chest. The males will be hatched with the head spot and will be barred. Same thing here. Solid male over a barred female produces sex links where the males are born with a head spot indicating the presence of the barring gene, and the females won't have the head spot, indicating the lack of the barring gene.
