Are these black orpingtons?

I got them today... more like rescued them, as the guy had five roosters to less than a dozen hens. He said they are black orpingtons; is that right? Hoping I can get them into better shape than how I got them.

You should be able to see by watching them closely as they walk around. If they have yellow foot bottoms, they are not Orpingtons or Australorps. They are probably mix breeds.

I believe they were black, or dark grey. Now I'm curious... *scurries off to inspect more closely*

They're probably Australorps.
