I purchased these 4 chickens from tractor supply back in the begining of April. They were all in a big trough of mixed breed chickens that were suposed to be all pullets. I have looked at alot of pictures and think that they are all golden sex link, also called red star...is this correct?? I am new to chickens so I am learning as I go. They are all friendly and wonderful with my 6 year old daughter but we live in a neighborhood that would not be to happy with a rooster crowing in the morning.

I tried to get good pictures of them but they didn't cooperate really well. The red combs and waddles have me a bit concerned but I have read other posts where people say it is normal for the gold sex-link and that a roo of this breed would be white. Any information would be greatly apreciated!

Chicken 1 - Big Red

Chicken 2 -

Chicken 3 -Pearl

Chicken 4 - Ruby ( This is the one that has the largest comb)- 2 pictures

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Look like all hens, they should be laying here really soon. Their combs and wattles getting really really red, right before they lay! I have the exact same as yours, wonderful chickens! :)

Great news! I was pretty sure they were hens but in the back of my mind I was worried that they would turn out to be roos! The funny thing is that after I posted this I went and did the nightly check of the nesting boxes and low and behold, our 1st ever egg!!! My daughter was sooo excited! Thanks for all of your help!
