Welcome to Backyard chickens. Roosters, hens, chicks are all CHICKENS. Roosters are male chickens. Hens are female chickens, and chicks are baby chickens generally to young to sex.

Cockerels are young roosters in the making. Pullets mature to be hens. Chicks end up being one or the other.

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!! oh man im so attached to them, fudgeee! no wonder they are acting like complete lunatics, oh wow now I have to get them out of my yard before the council discovers I've got not just one but two roosters in my yard LOL looks like I'm completely giving the finger to the law and my neighbours morning sleep schedule. Thanks guys for the timely and polite responses, I am very new to keeping feathered things that produce edible eggs and I'm not very good at the correct terms for things, I will learn over time and hopefully have some lovely replacement less deceptive chicks - hopefully hens this time those two have been having a lovely time eating up a storm what a lovely waste of money haha cheeky demons xDD
