Are these chicks wheaten split to duckwing or partridge ?

These 2 chicks have same parents dad is purebred buff orpington and the mom is a feral gamefowl type chicken.The mom is black and of her parents i know her mother was black and the possible father was maybe a crele looking rooster.

I don't know for sure, but I think you might be right about the genetics.

If Buff Orpingtons are wheaten (which I think they are), then each chick must have inherited wheaten from the father.

Given the stripes on the chicks, I would think it quite likely that duckwing was inherited from the mother.

I think some other genes and combinations of genes can also cause stripes on chicks, but I have not managed to track down much information, or remember what I did find, so I don't really know for sure. I just remember that stripes often mean duckwing but not always.
