are these cute call ducks show quality ?

After taking your Duck pics, attatch your camera to your computer with the USB type cable that probly came with it and 'import' those pis to your computer when prompted. Then make a posting on BYC using the handy REPLY window at the bottom of every forum page. When you're ready to insert a pic using that icon about halfway across the top of the reply window.Browse to your disired pic (usually under "my pics") select a size to post (medium-not huge)when offered a choice. If you still can't figure it out - there are a couple of instructions on how to do it found in help section.Give it a try-not really THAT hard.

Thanks

. I wasnt sure if they are show quality. I love them soo much and I wanted to show them off I just ont know if they are actually " show quality"" or not. Their bills are a tiny bit over an inch long and they are very light( weight) around 1 lb. They are a breeding pair but my female has only laid a few eggs this season so far. I recently got them and I absolutely adore them.

Drakes should weigh in about 1 1/4 pounds and Females should weigh in about 1 1/2 pounds.. It's hard to tell from the pic, but there beaks are suppose to be small and they have short necks. Yellow and blue beaks on a male is a major fault.. There are three factors for show Quaility call ducks, size, shape and color. Size The smaller the body and bill the better. Shape: bodies are round and plump... Color of the beak and head should be in sync...

Light weight is good because they need to be easy to carry. Call ducks are used for calling in the bigger ducks, so they also need to have a really high pitch sound...

Is he in eclipse plumage? The males in nuptial plumage are not supposed to have eye stripes. Their heads are supposed to be dark charcoal gray. Without other pictures, it's hard to say, but the female has a nice bill, head, eye stripes.

The smaller "typier" calls often do not lay as many eggs.

he is in some odd feathering in that picture of when he was younger. he does have a full charcoal head now. the female is molting now and getting these colors back in

My understand is that, until you reach a certain number of posts, you can only include links to photos, rather than embedding the photos into the thread. I'm not sure how many posts you need, though.

I can't speak to whether or not those calls are show quality, but they sure are pretty! Hopefully you can show them, and if you can't, you can always post photos here for us to gawk at!
