This is Captain Jack at 1 week old he had a defined comb so I decided he was a rooster. Now at 12 weeks old I'm not so sure. He doesn't act anything like my BR rooster did as a young roo. The BR was trying to crow at 4/5 weeks this EE has made no attempts whatsoever and he is very timid. All of my baby EEs have the same size spurs which is nothing but a little bump. Any thoughts???

This is Bananas she doesn't have her comb at all but that area is very red and she is very feisty. I don't know she kinda looks masculine to me (can chickens look masculine

I don't want to get rid of them. I think I will wait a little while before breaking the news to the farmer who was going to give Captain Jack a good home

Alot of the times, yes. There are other determining factors. Leg size, comb and such.
On EE's though there are certain colors that show up on wither roosters or hens and not on the opposite sex.
