Yeah if they went that far past 21 days as chicken eggs, they're definitely goners. I'm so sorry 😔 it's such a sad feeling. If one popped and blood came out it was likely malpositioned and knocked a vein. Any progress with it hatching?

No. I candled it and there was lots of blood in the egg :(

My guess is it was malpositioned so broke a vein while pipping and probably bled out 🙁 it happens with shipped eggs. If they aren't in the right position it's hard to get out safely.

They were not shipped tho. I also had to cull a chick earlier with malformed legs (they were backwards.)

Oh interesting. I would send a chick in for a necropsy or do nutrient deficiency testing. Here in Colorado we have CSU that has an awesome lab but I'm not sure what you have near you. I would also put a thermometer in your incubator to be sure it's at the correct temp. So sorry 😔

Update: I opened all the dead eggs and I forgot to take pics but here’s what I found: 2 hit blood vessels and bled to death. 1 formed with its brains out. 1 was malpositioned. And 1 was shrink wrapped. (Which makes me sad because I could have helped it but it never externally pipped so I didn’t know.)
